Are You New to Pilates?

Prior to joining a group class it will help to watch the 13 minute film of Gillian teaching Pilates.

Or for a deeper understanding you can take 1 or 2 private lessons with Gillian

Special Considerations

Pilates can be very beneficial for clients with ‘whiplash’, headaches, injuries, MS, vertigo, strokes, pelvic girdle dysfunction, decreased pelvic stability, Parkinson’s Disease, tendonitis, tennis elbow … Or after operations such as hip replacements, hysterectomy, abdominal surgery, and other operations. A lot of women find it especially helpful after childbirth.

In all cases it is prudent to discuss suitability with your consultant.

GP, Physiotherapist (“Physio”), Osteopath (“Osteo”) and Chiropractor (“Chiro”) referrals are welcome.

Private lessons can be booked to focus on pelvic floor, abdominals, thighs…answering questions on changes in your body, other exercise activities that are safe, general concerns etc. Before joining Gillian’s group class please email or phone so discuss any concerns you may have and to chat privately to Gillian prior to arriving at class.

Clothing – What to Wear

The ideal clothing for class shows the alignment of the body, is comfortable and stretchy (not baggy) e.g. leggings, shorts, t-shirts.  Please bring a medium-sized towel (for head support) and an extra pair of socks.
